How Do Your Breasts Change with Age?

28th Aug 2016

Many of us make jokes about the perky breasts we had in our 20s compared to the...well...less perky breasts we carry into our 40s. But is there any universal truth to the notion that our breasts change as we ageWomen's Health magazine published a pretty neat discussion of the ways our breasts change in our 20s, 30s, 40s, and beyond.

Much of the information was to be expected--our breasts change after our body has been pregnant or if we lose or gain weight, and we might get lumps from hormonal surges due to changing menstrual cycles.

The article also begins to explain some of the sag women notice in their 40s as collagen starts to give way and breast composition changes to be more fatty.

What the article doesn't discuss is that all these changes will naturally make your breasts shift in size as you age, which means you might find your bras aren't fitting as well. For some women, the shifting composition of breast tissue leads to bigger-but-softer breasts. For others, breasts become smaller or just change shape even if they stay the same size. All women can benefit from a bra that fits well as their bodies change, however!

If you've noticed a gradual change in your breasts, why not come in for a new fitting? Chances are, we carry your same beloved styles and can help to tweak the size so they support your ever-changing body.
