Solace In A Shower

Solace In A Shower

When I was younger, I used to take the world's quickest showers.  I could be up, showered, fed and out the door in less than 30 minutes.  But as time has gone on and I became a mother and started running my own business, I realized that one of the only places that I get any peace and alone time is

IN THE SHOWER.

Over the years my showers have started lasting longer and longer. When my son was younger and home with me all day, I found that with some careful planning, I could get a few moments alone in the shower.  This became my escape, my way to recharge.

Now that my son is old enough to go without needing me every moment - I am finding that my showers are getting longer and LONGER.  I feel the warm water beating on my body - massaging my aching muscles.  I think about work or what I'll be doing next.... or sometimes I just empty my mind and enjoy the sounds and sensations of being in the shower, of being alone, of not having to worry about anything.

This is where I find my solace.
