Flexible Bras for Maternity Support Your Changing Body
17th Apr 2017
We know that it's hard to find anything that fits well during pregnancy. Your body is changing so much, it seems like you're a different size every day.
We can't help you find the elusive maternity jeans with real pockets, but we sure can help you find some bras that will fit you well throughout your pregnancy and into your early days of breastfeeding!
Our newest find is the Sugar Candy bra by Cake Lingerie. This bra was designed to fit a small band/large bust. It's a beautiful, soft bra offering full coverage without adding padding or bulk. It's a seamless bra, which means it gives you a sleek silhouette with no visible nipples. As a bonus? The straps can be criss-crossed for a more supportive option. Sugar Candy is also available as a non-nursing bra!
We are big fans of the Dynabelly Nursing Tank (pictured). This tank doesn't look like anything special, but we promise--it is! It's substantial enough to wear alone as a shirt, makes a great layering piece, and we think the shelf bra is supportive enough for our clients with a large bust. This tank is a great layering piece for pregnancy because it can cover your belly under those pesky maternity shirts that aren't long enough.
We've got a wide range of sizes in our Bravado Original Nursing Bra, which we love because the flexible sizing will support your body in pregnancy, but also accommodate your changing breasts in the early days of nursing. The bra is shaped like a sports bra, which we think makes it more comfortable right from the get-go. Bravado is known for their easy-release clasps on their nursing bras, and this is no exception. The wide band won't roll up on you, and the seam in the front is meant to lie to the side of your nipple, so it won't irritate your sensitive breasts!
As always, we love our Anytime Bralet...anytime! This flexible bra is perfect for pregnancy and works great as a nursing bra. The T-shirt bralet provides smoothing coverage and comfortable (though light) support. Wear it around the house, or even for sleeping. Removable padding helps hide nipples and nursing pads and the flexible sizing easily accommodates changing sizes for weight loss.
Women often ask us "when is the best time to get fitted for a nursing bra?" We answer that question here, but the bottom line is that when your bras no longer fit, it's time to get some new ones. Pregnancy is a time of great change for your body, and every woman's body shifts differently. We hope these flexible sizing options will help you stay supported comfortably throughout all four trimesters!
